Equipment We Used to get started in Paranormal Research

It all started with a digital camera, and a digital video recorder. Regular items most people take along on vacations and weekend trips.   When we returned home after one specific trip and saw the images we had captured in two mirrors at the Read House Hotel, we were hooked. That began our lust for more unexplainable images/recordings. Having always been interested in the paranormal and having had too many experiences that defied explanation it was easy to fall into the allure of searching for paranormal evidence. Thus began the hunt.
We follow the ghost tales, in hopes of experiencing something out of the ordinary with the intent of sharing some of the experiences here, in blogs and in current and upcoming books. So of course we need some equipment to document our research and even more to convince some that we are serious.  The following represents the tools we have so far. As money allows we will definitely be adding more equipment to enable us to share the results of our visits to haunted locations.

We are  open to joining other establish and respectable groups as we research paranormal happenings.

How we got started researching haunted locations and paranormal events:

We began with a digital camera and video recorder.

Night Vision Video Camera.
We didn't have the money to go with a more expensive camcorder to get those tough night time shots, but this one gets the job done for now. It is affordable, super simple to use, but the program that comes with it is very child like since the target audience is for younger people. I use it as a mass storage device and remove the video footage as to avoid the software nuisances. It gives satisfactory results, very easy to use and works as a regular digital camera too, as you will see demonstrated in many of our videos on the Video Page.  Click below for more details, ratings or to get your own!

We added an EMF Detector and Digital Audio Recorder and found these 2 items to be very beneficial.

Our Latest EMF Detector:
We recommend more than one EMF Detector per tool kit. Why?  In the dark, the indicator lights are very helpful, but in bright light a digital or needle display is easier to read, since the lights on the K-II won't show in daylight especially on film. So one of our latest gadgets is the K-II meter for researching darker locations, and we love it. We use it as much as our Lutron EMF detector as seen above. *We also use The Ghost Meter too, and we have achieved spirit communication with that devise as the needle responded to our questioning. The Ghost Meter has an audio chime to alert you to emf spikes, so it is a nice one to leave on a table as you go about your investigation. It all depends on what your budget allows as to which meter you may want. But we can recommend all on this page.

Next we bought an Infrared Digital Thermometer. This is a useful tool to determine ambient temps and validate cool spots (or even  hot spots in some cases.) We have also utilized a regular compass. This is a reliable tool that has been used in ghost detecting dating back to the 1800's. Determine due North readings and watch for irregular or unexplained reactions from the needle.

Of course we always carry the little extra's that are needed for a ghost hunt. Safety is first, so we try to be prepared for accidents/injury. Do we carry personal protection? Well, I'd rather not post it for all to see, but my philosophy is: The ghosts won't hurt us, but a crazed person will.... being prepared is important.
